South towards Barnaul
One of the most convenient places for hitchhiking south via the M52 highway is in Berdsk. Access to the road is quick and easy.
Other directions
Exiting Berdsk towards other directions, especially crossing Novosibirsk, can be quite challenging. Plan for at least two hours to get through the city. Attempting to cross Novosibirsk using local roads may take even longer. It is better to take a commuter train from Berdsk to Novosibirsk and reach onward hitchhiking spots, as the trains run on schedule and avoid the constant traffic jams.
