Hitchhiking out

South towards Ankara, Karabük

To go towards Devrek, Çaycuma, Bolu, Ankara, or Karabük, you need to get to the Ankara Road. You can use the minibuses going towards Asma or Gökgöl and start hitchhiking from the entrance of Asma neighborhood on Ankara Road. The Ankara Road is mostly one lane and quite narrow until the Çaycuma junction, so it is highly beneficial to cover this stretch with a single vehicle.

The junction for Çaycuma and Bartın is at the 35th km, and the road to Karabük splits right after passing the Çaycuma junction. Although instructions for Bartın are listed under East, it is suggested to use the Ankara Road and reach Bartın via Çaycuma if necessary, as the Ankara Road is busier and, despite a longer distance, saves time.

West towards Ereğli, Istanbul

To go towards Ereğli, Akçakoca, Düzce, or Istanbul, you need to get to the Ereğli Road. You can take public transport towards Kozlu and start hitchhiking from the beginning of Ereğli Road at the Kozlu entrance.

East towards Bartın

To go towards Hisarönü or Bartın, you need to get to the Bartın Road. You can take public transport towards Kilimli and begin hitchhiking from the Kilimli exit. However, it is more useful to take public transport towards Çatalağzı or Muslu and start hitchhiking from Çatalağzı, as this gets you outside the residential areas more quickly.

Alternatively, you can also follow the instructions for the South direction and reach Bartın via the Ankara Road if necessary.
